Welcome to Horizon Aquatics – Our store for all things aquascaping! Our passion lies in creating stunning planted aquariums, and every aspect of our store reflects that commitment. From carefully curated fish selections to top-of-the-line equipment, we offer everything you need to bring your aquatic vision to life. We're incredibly proud to have been recognised as the UK's best aquascape shop for three consecutive years, and we've also earned a spot in the top 40 general aquatic stores. 

Let us Give you an Insight into what our Store is all About

Walking through the doors, you will find our reception/till area, here we have a range of Horizon, ADA, and other brands of Aquascape Merchandise including mugs, T-shirts, books, stickers and more. There are also two nano tanks in this area: a shallow ADA 45F aquarium and a DOOA Terra 30 terrarium, this little plaudarium always catches peoples attention, we think its due to the beautiful Anubias gracilis and the bright red Fittonia!

Moving into the Corridor

We have inspiring aquascape layout images covering the walls. To the left is an ADA section to view key ADA items, including aquarium glassware, tools, fertiliser, and more. 

At the other end of the corridor, we have a terrarium plant section, which can be used in small pots like DOOA Neo glass airs or above water level in aquariums. Opposite this section, we have a larger paludarium consisting of a DOOA shallow aquarium, DOOA Mist wall (creating a live wall effect) on one of our own aquarium cabinets (black) 

Returning to the beginning of the corridor, the first room you enter is the hardscape room. 

Aquarium Hardscape Room 

The hardscape room is a core feature of our store, providing all sorts of aquascape materials to get your creative juices flowing. The walls are filled with wood, including corbo wood, driftwood, red Moor root, horn wood, and more! 

There is more larger wood dotted around the room, down the sides and in the centre, including talawa wood, mangrove wood, and more. 

Down one side of the room is full of aquarium safe rock; some of our favourites are seriyu stone, hakkai Stone, Frodo stone and a rare to-come-by ADA Yamaya stone 

We have many options of aquarium sands and gravels for the finer details and finishing touches of your aquascape including our own range of Horizon Detailing gravels. There is also plenty of choice of aquarium soil, which is needed for the successful growth of aquatic plants. Some brands in this room that can be found are ADA, Horizon, Tropica, and Wio. 

Onto the Next Room! The Nano Room 

Next is our dedicated nano room, designed for smaller fish, bettas, and shrimp enthusiasts!

Here, you'll discover an assortment of smaller fish species, including vibrant rasbora species including chilli and galaxy rasboras, Pencilfish, and Otocinclus, among many others.

For shrimp lovers, we offer a stunning selection of Caridina and Neocaridina shrimp in various colour species.

And let’s not forget our beloved bettas! We take great pride in our extensive collection, featuring frequent shipments of both show-grade and A-grade bettas. You’ll find an impressive variety of colors and fin types, from the striking Hellboy and elegant Crowntail to the graceful Dumbo, the splendid Half Moon, and the adorable short-finned plakats.

In this room we always have a comprehensive display of DOOA terrariums and aquariums on show. You can see live displays of the DOOA Cell and various sizes of DOOA neo glass air to give plenty of inspiration for you to build your own

Moving back into the corridor you see more artwork before moving into the dry goods room.

Aquascape Equipment for Planted Tanks (dry goods)

Here, we have lots of aquascaping equipment, including aquarium CO2 systems, planted aquarium lighting, aquarium Filtration, tropical fish foods, aquatic plant fertiliser, and nano aquariums from UNS, ADA, and Aquael.

After leaving the dry goods room, you will be at the end of the corridor, where the main room is. Here is our aquascaping gallery and a huge selection of the very best aquarium plants. 

The Aquascape Gallery

We have 12 live displays ranging from 45cm to 120cm aquariums. These have been designed by ourselves and special guests who have come to do live workshops.

So far, we have been lucky enough to host George Farmer, Geordie Scaper, MJ Aquascaping, Josh Sim, Pavol Kulanda, Tommy from Green Aqua, Balbi Vaquero from Aquaflora, Luis Navarro from Seachem. 

Use this room to chill, relax, and take in the inspiration. There are a range of brands in here including: ADA full systems, Oase, Twinstar, Chihiros, and our very own Horizon Aquarium cabinets. 

Tropical Fish

On the other side, we have a tropical fish sales system filled with plant-safe fish, from the well-known and loved neon tetra to rarer species like the red-finned penguin tetra and golden congo tetras. 

Aquarium Plants - A Huge Selection

With so many aquarium plants to choose from in our greenhouse/giant terrarium systems, we keep our potted plants in these. Aquarium plants in the wholesalers are grown in greenhouses, so when they come to us, instead of submerging them and allowing them to adapt to our water parameters, we keep them immersed. This means when someone comes to buy them, they are less stressed and only have to transition to your water. It also helps keep them free of algae and pests. 

Opposite these systems is a wall of tissue culture plants with a wide variety to choose from, aquatic plant brands are Aquaflora, Aquafleur, Stoffels, and Tropica.
