Nature Collection Kumbuk Bark (Pack of 5)
Nature Collection Kumbuk Bark is a beautiful and long-lasting natural botanical, ideal for aquariums, terrariums, and vivariums. Known for its rich texture and durability, Kumbuk Bark is perfect for creating authentic blackwater environments while adding natural structure to your setup.
The Kumbuk tree (Terminalia arjuna) naturally grows along riverbanks in Sri Lanka and South Asia. In the wild, its bark and leaves regularly fall into the water, helping shape the natural blackwater habitats where many shrimp and tropical fish species evolved.
In aquariums, Kumbuk Bark gradually releases natural tannins and beneficial organic compounds, helping to recreate soft, natural water conditions favoured by shrimp, bettas, and other softwater species. Its firm, slow-degrading structure provides a long-term source of tannins, making it ideal for maintaining stable blackwater conditions.
The textured surface encourages biofilm growth, providing an excellent natural food source for shrimp and microorganisms. It also creates additional shelter and grazing areas, supporting natural behaviour and improving environmental enrichment.
Kumbuk Bark is especially effective when used alongside leaves and seed pods to create realistic biotope aquascapes and natural leaf litter zones.
