Appearance Unlike many aquarium mosses, Fissidens fontanus grows in neat, layered fronds that resemble miniature fern leaves or feathers. As it develops, it forms dense cushions of vibrant green growth that create a soft and highly natural appearance on wood, rock and hardscape.
Lighting & Growth Fissidens fontanus thrives in low to medium lighting conditions and does not require CO₂ injection.
It grows slowly compared to many other moss species, making it easy to manage and ideal for detailed aquascapes. While CO₂ is not essential, supplementation can encourage denser growth and faster establishment.
