Aquael Pat Mini Filter
The PAT MINI is a compact yet powerful turbine filter designed for small freshwater aquariums. It features a small filter head paired with a carefully selected high-density sponge, delivering outstanding filtration performance in a minimal footprint.
Thanks to its innovative design, the filter head achieves a maximum flow rate of up to 400 l/h, comparable to many medium-sized internal filters. Despite this impressive output, the PAT MINI operates at an energy-efficient power consumption of 4W or less. This makes it capable of providing effective filtration even in aquariums of up to 120 litres.
To ensure suitability for smaller tanks, the filter is equipped with a front-mounted flow control switch, allowing you to easily adjust the output and prevent excessive water movement. A directional outlet nozzle further enhances control by letting you guide the water flow toward a tank wall or other desired direction. An included aeration tube connects to the outlet nozzle to ensure efficient oxygenation of the aquarium water.
The supplied sponge performs excellent mechanical filtration, capturing even fine visible debris from the water. At the same time, it provides an ideal surface for beneficial nitrifying bacteria, which help break down harmful substances such as ammonia and nitrites. Sponge maintenance is quick and simple, taking less than a minute, and regular cleaning ensures consistent performance and crystal-clear, healthy water.
Installation is quick and hassle-free thanks to a secure mounting holder with strong suction cups, as well as a practical bracket that allows the filter to be hooked onto the edge of the aquarium glass.
Top Tip
We love using the PAT MINI in nano aquariums, where its adjustable flow helps replicate gentle natural stream conditions. It’s a favourite in some of our own shrimp and Betta setups, as the sponge intake protects baby shrimp and prevents damage to long, flowing Betta fins.
