ADA KUMU Buff Layer Stone
300g – 30–80mm
The ADA KUMU Buff Layer Stone is a naturally layered hardscape material from the KUMU Layout Series, selected for its warm buff tones and distinct sedimentary structure. With soft beige and light earthy hues running through each piece, it introduces warmth and subtle contrast to planted aquarium layouts.
Sized between 30–80mm, these pieces are ideal for refining detail within your hardscape or supporting larger structural stones. The natural banding and stratified texture make it particularly effective for creating slopes, terraces, and layered geological formations in Nature Aquarium designs. Its horizontal lines draw the eye and add a sense of direction and flow within the layout.
The textured surface provides excellent attachment points for mosses and epiphytes, while the natural creases and contours create shaded areas and grazing surfaces for shrimp and small fish. This helps enhance both the visual depth and biological function of your aquascape.
Water Parameters
Buff Layer Stone may have a moderate effect on hardness and can slightly influence pH in some setups. As with all natural stone, minor variations are possible, but it can be used successfully in planted aquariums when balanced with regular maintenance and monitoring.
Versatile by Design
Beyond aquascaping, Buff Layer Stone works beautifully in paludariums and terrariums, where its warm layered appearance complements mosses and tropical planting schemes. Whether used to build elevation or add subtle geological texture, it brings a refined, natural character to any composition.
