ADA KUMU Black Lava Stone

150g – 30–80mm

The ADA KUMU Black Lava Stone is a naturally dramatic hardscape material crafted for planted aquarium rockwork, nature aquarium layouts, terrariums and paludariums. Its deep charcoal-black colour and rugged, porous texture create bold contrast against vibrant plant growth, making it a standout aquascape stone for iwagumi and natural style designs. As an authentic lava rock, Black Lava Stone offers organic variation in shape and surface, enhancing depth, shadow and visual impact in planted setups.

Each piece, sized between 30–80mm, is ideal for creating layered rock formations or accenting larger hardscape structures. The porous surface and natural cavities provide excellent attachment points for mosses, ferns and other epiphytic plants, helping integrate hardscape and planting with effortless realism. These nooks and crevices also serve as shelter and exploration zones for shrimp and small fish, contributing to a richer aquarium environment.

Water Parameters

Black Lava Stone is generally stable in freshwater planted tanks and has minimal impact on water chemistry. Like all natural stones, trace mineral contribution is possible, but it remains suitable for most planted aquariums and community systems with standard maintenance.

Versatile by Design

Beyond aquascaping, ADA KUMU Black Lava Stone enhances terrariums and paludariums with its dramatic aesthetic and textural presence. Whether used to build striking focal points or to contrast against softer plant backgrounds, this stone brings bold structure and natural character to any aquatic or semi-aquatic composition.
