Tropica Limnophila sessiliflora (Ambulia)
Limnophila sessiliflora is a fast-growing and undemanding stem plant from South-East Asia. It’s a beautiful alternative to Cabomba, offering a similar fine, feathery texture but with far easier care requirements.
This plant grows upright stems that can reach up to 40 cm in height and around 3–4 cm in width, making it ideal for the midground to background of planted aquariums. Under good lighting and with CO₂ injection, Limnophila sessiliflora develops dense, bushy growth and vibrant green colour. In lower light it may grow more leggy, but regular trimming and CO₂ supplementation help maintain a compact form.
Planted in groups, it creates a soft, flowing backdrop that adds movement and depth to aquascapes. In strong growing conditions, it can also send out runners and gradually spread along the substrate.
