Seachem Purigen – Advanced Filtration Resin

Seachem Purigen® is a premium synthetic adsorbent that outperforms traditional filtration media such as carbon and zeolite. Specially designed to remove organic waste, Purigen eliminates discolouration, odors, and toxic compounds before they break down, resulting in crystal-clear water and a healthier aquarium environment.

Safe for both freshwater and marine aquariums, Purigen does not strip essential trace elements or alter water chemistry. What makes it unique is its ability to be recharged multiple times with bleach, making it an economical and long-lasting choice for serious aquarists.

Key Benefits of Seachem Purigen

  • Removes dissolved organics, discoloration, and odors

  • Produces sparkling clear water

  • Works better and lasts longer than activated carbon

  • Safe for freshwater, planted, reef & marine aquariums

  • Regenerable with bleach for multiple reuses

  • Does not affect trace elements or pH

Available Sizes & Water Treatment Capacity

  • 100 mL (bagged) – treats up to 400 L for up to 6 months

  • 250 mL – treats up to 1,000 L for up to 6 months

Directions for Use

  • Use 100 mL per 400 L of aquarium water.

  • Place in a fine mesh filter bag and position in a high-flow area of the filter.

  • When exhausted, Purigen darkens — regenerate by soaking in a 1:1 bleach solution, then rinse thoroughly with a dechlorinator.
