Bamboo Shrimp

Bamboo Shrimp are fascinating freshwater shrimp known for their unique filter-feeding behaviour and larger size compared to most aquarium shrimp. Rather than grazing like many other shrimp species, they use specialised fan-shaped appendages to filter tiny food particles directly from the water column.

Scientifically known as Atyopsis moluccensis, Bamboo Shrimp are peaceful and make an excellent addition to established community aquariums with good water flow. Their colours can range from light brown to reddish or tan, often with subtle stripe patterns that help them blend naturally into aquascapes.

These shrimp often perch on rocks, driftwood, or plants in areas of stronger current where they can spread their feeding fans and capture fine particles carried by the flow.

Delivery & Customer Responsibility

Please read before ordering.

1. Suitable Tank Conditions
It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure that their aquarium is fully cycled and that water parameters are suitable for the species purchased before placing an order.

We cannot accept liability for losses resulting from unsuitable tank conditions, incorrect water parameters, or improper acclimation. Shrimp are sensitive invertebrates and require stable, appropriate environments to thrive.
